Garfield Park Conservatory

Time to take a break from pondering plants and go spend some time amongst them!  If you live in the Chicagoland area, you MUST go check out the Garfield Park Conservatory!  It's open every day, it's free (donations accepted), and it is absolutely gorgeous!

The flowers weren't quite blooming yet - They'll be breathtaking in another week or two.  But the whole place was green, hot, humid, and absolutely wonderful!  Such a welcome break from the cold, dry midwestern winter!

It started misting while we were there.  The whole place was enveloped in a warm, wet fog, and you couldn't see more than a few feet down the path in front of you.  A rain forest in Chicago!  Only a monkey swinging through the trees could've made the experience more authentic.  Oh wait, there's one now -

Isabella shows off her "make and take" project.  There is a Children's Garden that is full of fun activities for the kids.  Don't let them pick the pineapples!

While you're in the neighborhood, stop by and visit my friends, Saverio and Molly.  Insist on some made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls, coffee, and mimosas!

I feel so fortunate to live near this valuable community asset!  If you have a chance, stop by and visit, make a small donation, and tell Saverio and Molly that I said "Hi!"
